Students go to school, colleges and in this phase (school to college), they learn many things. They gain and collect lots of knowledge. This phase is a crucial phase of their life, especially their time in school—the basics of learning start from school. School life has always had a special place in our hearts, from making friends to gaining knowledge.
But when we talk about schools, how could we forget the examination as school and examination go hand in hand. During exam time, students go through a lot of pressure to perform well. During exams, students learn many things and try to keep all things in mind. But! Some students fail to memorize things maybe because they have less retaining power. If you are one of those students, then no need to worry. In this article, I will be mentioning some of the hacks to remember things easily:
Teach Someone Else
You need to have more clarity about the topic and remember it; one of the best hacks is to teach someone else. It means once you finish studying a lesson, teach that lesson to someone else. It could be anyone- friends, parents, siblings, walls, pillows, etc. Doing this will help you to learn things more quickly and at a faster rate. Also, it will help you to understand the lesson more clearly and retain it for a more extended time.
Readout Lesson Loud
Another way to memorize lessons is to read out loud. It means whenever you are reading a task and trying to remember it, read it out loud. While you do this, you read it and listen to what you are saying. This double effect will help you memorize your lesson faster and allow you to retain it for a long duration.
Short, Frequent Session
It’s a tendency for students to not focus for a longer duration. A study of 1or 2 hours can be tedious and of no use. So! It’s better to have a short time and productive study rather than having a longer duration but unproductive study. Taking a break between studies will help refresh the brain, and students can focus on their research in a much better way.
Take Study Naps
Taking naps is the best way to refresh yourself. It is true that students feel sleepy in between studies but push themself to study more. It is not the right way to study. If you feel tired, it’s better to take a nap for 20-25 minutes before you resume your study. Taking a study nap is very helpful as it refreshes your mind and helps you study more effectively and learn things speedily.
Meditate
Many students have a complaint of low concentration power. It makes it difficult for them to study with entire focus resulting in fewer marks, tension, stress, and decreased learning capacity. So! The best solution to increase your concentration is to include yoga or meditation in your life. Yoga is beneficial in making your body fit and also refreshes your mind. Yoga will improve your concentration power, thus helping you to memorize things faster. Also, there are lots of motivational quotes for students available online. Reading these quotes is another technique to keep yourself motivated. It will boost your confidence, just like meditation.
Reward Yourself for Merits
Rewarding is the best way to motivate yourself. Whether small or big, give yourself a treat or reward whenever you achieve something. The bonus could be anything- a simple appreciation, a treat of your favorite food, going to your favorite place, watching your favorite movie, etc. Appreciating yourself helps to motivate you to do better in your studies.
Create Mind Maps
Wherever you are going to start any subject or lesson, make a map in your mind of how you will deal with it. Also, make a mind map of the lesson that you are learning. It will help you at the time of your exam. You don’t have to reread a whole chapter; just looking at the mind map will help you memorize the whole lesson.
