Telegram is a cloud-based messaging and social networking app that can be used on computers, tablets, and smartphones. Telegram’s features include end-to-end encryption, cloud storage, self-destructing messages, and bots.
User Profile
Your profile is the first thing someone will see when they chat with you. It’s a great way to show people more about yourself, so why not make the most of it?
A few things on your user profile can quickly help others get to know you and decide if they want to keep talking. For example, you might include your photo or location in your user profile (which can be changed later) and share links to websites where people can learn more about what interests you or find out more about what you do for work!
You might also include some of your favorite interests or hobbies, and any other information that would be helpful to someone getting to know you. If you’re new to online dating, here are a few tips for making the most of your user profile:
Conversation Settings
If you want to create a group but don’t want everyone to see the messages, you can set the conversation settings to public, private, or secret.
If you choose secret then your message will not be visible to anyone who is not a member of the group.
You can choose to only allow specific people to join the group.
If you do not want people to know that you are in the group, then you can choose private. If everyone is allowed to see who is in the group and they choose public then users will be able to see when someone joins or leaves the group.
Notifications and Sounds
The Telegram app (电报中文app)allows you to adjust the notification settings:
-Go to Settings > Notifications & Sounds.
-Tap on “Notification Sound”, and select a sound from the list of options, or tap on “None” if you don’t want any sound at all. You can also turn off notifications for individual chats by tapping on the gear icon next to its name in your chats list, then turning off “Receive notifications”.
The Telegram app allows you to adjust the volume:
Go to Settings > Notifications & Sounds. Under the “Alerts” section, you can turn off the “In-Chat Alert” option if you want to stop receiving new message alerts altogether.
Privacy and Security
As with any social media platform, it’s important to know how to protect your privacy and security. Telegram has a pretty nice set of settings that allow you to control who can see your profile and content. You can choose among four privacy options:
Public — Your profile is public, so anyone in your contacts list can view it.
Secret — Only people who have been added as friends will be able to see this profile.
Hidden — The user must be added by the owner or be identified via another way (through a username or phone number). It does not appear in search results either; however, for those who know about this feature and its password (which is never shown on the app), they should still be able to see everything from messages sent from others within their contact list if they follow each other on Telegram Messenger app version 6 or higher running Android 4+.
It is possible to set different types of privacy and security setting
The privacy settings in Telegram(TG中文网) are very flexible and allow you to control who sees your messages. This can be particularly useful if you’re a channel/group admin or bot developer, as it allows you to control the content of your channel/group for users. The security settings also offer many options for added protection, such as 2FA and setting up secret chats with self-destruct timers.
The different privacy settings include:
Public – anyone can see this message by searching in the search bar or by clicking on the username of the sender (the same thing happens when someone sends an unsolicited message).
Closed – only people who have previously been added as contacts or through an invite link will be able to see this message, even if they aren’t in your contact list yet.* Secret – only people who have received a shared link will be able to see this message; these links are sent out randomly when clicking “Share” on any conversation (they’re also shown under ‘Share’ in each conversation overview).
To sum up
So that’s it, we have covered the basic functionality of Telegram and some of its privacy and security settings. There are other features like stickers or bots but we will cover those in a separate article.
