However, in this article, we will be focusing on how it is not always easy to get healthy eating rules right. For example, eating curd at night can create mucus in the nose, blocking the way to breathe and can impact the health of people suffering from blood pressure issues.
Here is the list of some of the foods that can impact health if eaten at the wrong time.
Chai (Tea)
For most people having a cup of garam chai right after waking up feels the natural thing to do but it’s actually not good for your health. According to research, drinking chai before a meal can disturb your alkaline and acid balance, metabolism, upset stomach, cause constipation and inhibit the absorption of nutrients. You can have two cups of chai/ coffee in a day but avoid having chai or coffee in the morning or last thing before going to bed.
Banana
People who want to gain weight or don’t get enough time to prepare their breakfast usually have a banana with milk on an empty stomach. It can decrease energy levels for a short time because of its high sugar content but after a while, you might end up feeling hungry and tired again. It can also pose a threat to people who suffer from irritable bowel syndrome and cause diarrhea. If you still want to have bananas for breakfast then mix them with some other foods like bread and peanut butter.
Rice
Rice is the staple food of India. Indian cuisine has an amazing variety of rice dishes and for great reasons. Rice is a good source of complex carbohydrates and keeps you feeling energetic for a longer period of time. But eating them at night can cause weight gain as they are high in calories. Lunchtime is the best time to have rice in your diet. Metabolism works faster during these hours and makes it easier for the body to digest it.
Beans
Beans are a great source of protein and fiber but eating them at night can make you feel too full and bloated and might impact your sleep. Be careful with this food, you can have beans/rajma in your lunch or an early dinner this way your body will be able to digest it properly and provide useful nutrients.
Sugar
If you are trying to stick to a healthy diet, it is better that you stay away from processed sugar. If it’s difficult for you to avoid it then you can limit it. What you can do is have some dessert right after the main meal and avoid eating sweets as a snack, as this can spike your blood sugar levels and can leave you nervous and tired.
Nuts
Nuts are a good source of calories and healthy fat and having them in breakfast or as a snack between your meals is the best option to get all the benefits like good health, perfect weight management, normal cholesterol levels, and healthy skin and hair. Avoid having them as a nighttime snack because they take a long time to digest and can cause problems with falling asleep.
